Singers, bands, and dancers of all ages and musical styles provide entertainment on the Community Stage in Simpson Plaza at City Hall. All of the performers are talented Frisco locals. Stop by and see your favorite "homegrown" act light up the stage during Party in the Plaza starting at 3:45 p.m. with the national anthem. The music and dancing continues through the night until fireworks end!

The City of Frisco is now accepting applications from performing artists of all ages. The competition is open to anyone who lives in the City of Frisco or who attends a Frisco ISD school. Applicants must be willing to perform for free. We encourage a variety of performers from soloists to bands to dancers to apply.
A committee of city employees will score and select performers from those who submit a complete application by the deadline of Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 5 p.m. Late entries will not be accepted. All applicants are required to provide video of a recent performance either on a DVD or a url link to view the performance on YouTube.
New this year - one band will be chosen by popular vote through the Frisco Freedom Fest Facebook fan page. Any band that chooses to be part of the Community Stage Battle of the Bands on Facebook will still go through the regular selection committee, but will have an additional chance to win a 30 minute performance slot in the evening. The band video with the most ‘likes’ after the voting period closes will be declared the winner. Voting is scheduled to run beginning 5 p.m. on June 1 through 5 p.m. on June 7. Those interested in competing in the Community Stage Battle of the Bands on Facebook are required to provide a url link to a recent performance posted on YouTube.
To be accepted, applications must be completed in full including the biographical information. (The bio is used to introduce you or your band if you are selected to perform.)
The completed application should be delivered to the first floor of City Hall inside the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center by 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 31. Late entries will not be accepted.
